Avnish Bajaj is the co-founder and Managing Director of Matrix Partners India. Previously he was the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of India’s Largest Online Marketplace Baazee.com which was acquired by eBay. Prior to Baazee, Avnish was an Investment Banker with the Hi-Tech group at Goldman Sachs in New York and San Francisco. He was also a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. and started his career with Apple Computer in the Bay Area.
Avnish currently serves on the Board of Matrix India portfolio companies Yo! China (Chinese fast food chain), itzCash Card (pre paid cash card business) and Quikr (online local classifieds site). He is also an investor and advisor to Cleartrip (online Indian travel agent), Pangea3 (Legal Process Outsourcing business), Pinstorm (Search Marketing company) and Indus Biotech (Biotech Products Company). Avnish is also an active member of various industry forums with a particular focus on Entrepreneurship and also serves on Advisory Boards of the incubator cells at various IIT’s and IIM’s.
He is a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School, WARF Fellow from University of Wisconsin -Madison and a Top Ranked Graduate in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

Dhiraj has a PhD in EE from Purdue where his research was focused on algorithms for desktop printers. His PhD research was sponsored by HP's Imaging & Printing Group. Dhiraj has an MS in EE from Washington State University and B.Tech in EE from IIT Bombay. Dhiraj has numerous patents and publications to his name in the field of Digital Imaging. |

With a broad range of hands-on experience founding, funding and supporting early-stage technology companies, Alok Mittal joined Canaan India in March 2006. Alok focuses on investments in digital media and mobile companies, as well as innovators in managed software services and other IT enabled businesses.
Prior to joining the venture industry, Alok co-founded JobsAhead.com, a leading web-based recruitment business, which was acquired by Monster.com, the global leader in online recruitment. He also brings strong Telecom experience to Canaan having worked for Hughes Software Systems prior to that. Alok is also a co-founder of Indian Angel Network, and on the board of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) in Delhi. During the course of his association with Canaan India, he advised Canaan Partners in their investment in Bharat Matrimony, iYogi, Cellcast, UnitedLex, Chakpak and MotorExchange.

Mr. Manik Arora is founding Managing Director of IDG Ventures India, a US$150 Million early-stage technology venture capital fund backed by IDG. Mr. Arora is based in Mumbai and invests across industry sectors nationally, with an emphasis on Internet, Wireless, Software and Services. He currently serves on the Board of Directors at Kreeda and Ozone Media. Prior to starting IDG Ventures India, Manik was at Battery Ventures in Silicon Valley. Previously, he spent time with General Atlantic Partners (GA) working on technology investments, including GAs first India investment, Patni Computer Systems.
Manik was part of the founding management team at GA-backed i-DNS.net International, the global leader in multilingual Internet DNS technology. Previously, Manik managed global outsourcing initiatives for American Express in New York and ran sales and marketing for MasterCard International in Singapore. His early career was as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in India and South East Asia advising clients on strategy and operations primarily in the e-commerce, financial services and consumer services sectors.
Manik is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and a Kauffman Fellow at the Center for Venture Education. He holds a BA in Economics from Swarthmore College where he received a McCabe Fellowship to pursue his MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. |
