    Vishal Laheri has over 14 years of experience in Strategy, M&A and transactions advisory across Financial Services, Technology Media & Telecom and Infrastructure & Power sectors. He has worked on some of the largest and most complex transactions in India and has developed vital relationships with several renowned promoters, foreign and India institutions, funds and C-Level executives.

    Between 2005-2015, Vishal worked with the promoter team (reporting directly to the Group Managing Directors) of Reliance Group (India’s leading business conglomerate), across all the businesses of the Group, specifically working on M&A, taxation and accounting matters. He also assisted the promoter team in their representations with several industry forums including FICCI, CII, IMC, India US CEO forum, etc.

    Over the past 4 years, Vishal was responsible for the M&A & Strategy function, reporting to the Group CEO at Reliance Capital Limited (RCAP), the holding company of Reliance Group’s financial businesses. In this role, amongst several other transactions, he was instrumental in the Group’s key partnerships with Nippon Life Insurance (Japan) for the life insurance and asset management businesses, and with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust and Bank (Japan) for the proposed banking license and strategic partnership. During this period, Vishal has closed transactions aggregating to ~USD 1.5 bn. He continues to advise RCAP on its ongoing transactions.

    Prior to joining Reliance Group, Vishal was part of the Transaction Advisory Services at Ambit RSM (now part of PwC India) for about 4 years, and worked on a wide range of sector-agnostic M&A and restructuring transactions, for leading Indian as well as MNC clients.

    Vishal is a Fellow of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of India and a Company Secretary by qualification, and has graduated from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai, with state government open merit scholarship.
